Smaller links are best. They allow the quick slipping of the ring along the chain without binding.
Clip the leash to one of the end links; this is now the RUNNING RING because it moves with the leash.
The other ring is now called the DEAD RING because it does not move.
Placing the collar over the dog's head is very important.

THE COLLAR SHOULD COME FROM ACROSS THE BACK OF THE DOG'S NECK TO THE LEASH
